Vanta is seeking a Director of Internal Communications to build and lead the company's internal communications strategy from the ground up. Reporting to the Head of People, you'll define how Vanta communicates internally as it scales globally, ensuring every team member understands the company's strategy, story, and expectations.
Key responsibilities include: shaping Vanta's internal narrative and ensuring key messages land at the right moment; building internal comms infrastructure including Slack norms, documentation systems, and communication cadences; owning company-wide moments end-to-end (all-hands, major announcements, org-wide notifications); partnering with the People team on sensitive communications; triaging and prioritizing company-wide communication requests; aligning internal and external narratives with Marketing and External Comms; advising the C-team and Leadership Team on timing and approach for major business updates; building and protecting company culture through communications; experimenting with new formats and channels as the company scales; and measuring effectiveness with a data-informed approach.
You'll need 8-10+ years building and executing internal comms strategy at high-growth companies. Success requires strong writing and storytelling skills, ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, executive influence and partnership capabilities, experience with People/HR on sensitive organizational communications, excellent judgment and prioritization, a natural sense for culture and energy, creativity and willingness to take risks, and openness to leveraging AI to amplify your work.
