Cohere, a leading security-first enterprise AI company, is seeking a Head of Impact & Sustainability to lead the company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) accountability strategy while building and overseeing philanthropic initiatives and employee giving programs. In this role, you will develop and execute a comprehensive impact strategy aligned with Cohere's mission to scale intelligence to serve humanity. Key responsibilities include: - Developing and implementing a measurable ESG strategy that integrates environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and governance excellence across all company operations - Establishing and managing Cohere's philanthropic foundation, identifying strategic giving priorities and partnerships that align with company values - Leading philanthropy, research collaboration, and engagement with universities - Creating and scaling employee giving and volunteer programs to foster a culture of social responsibility and community engagement - Developing measurable impact frameworks and KPIs to track ESG performance, philanthropic outcomes, and employee engagement - Ensuring compliance with relevant ESG regulations and reporting standards while identifying innovation opportunities - Collaborating with communications and people teams to develop and communicate impact strategies internally and externally, positioning Cohere as a leader in responsible AI development You will work across the organization to balance strategic thinking with operational execution in a fast-growing, global technology company with offices in Toronto, London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin, and Seoul. Required qualifications include 15+ years of experience in ESG, sustainability, impact management, or philanthropy leadership with 3+ years in a leadership role. You should have a proven track record of developing and implementing comprehensive ESG strategies in technology or enterprise software companies, experience establishing and managing philanthropic foundations or corporate giving programs, strong understanding of ESG frameworks and reporting standards, demonstrated ability to measure and report on social and environmental impact, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution. An advanced degree in Business, Sustainability, Social Impact, or related field is preferred, with an MBA highly valued.
