Sparta is a next-generation commodity trading platform that secured $42M in Series B funding in February 2025. The company provides trading desks with clarity, control, and collaboration tools to move faster and trade smarter. You will build and run Sparta's demand engine end-to-end, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role where you'll design the architecture and strategy from day one, then build and lead the team as it scales. Key responsibilities include: - Scale existing demand-creation channels (analyst commentary, PR, webinars, Market Outlook) and build new website and community programs to generate signals. - Build processes to capture in-market demand as it emerges, running paid, retargeting, SEO/AEO, and lifecycle programs. - Own the signal-based pipeline architecture in HubSpot, unifying first-, second-, and third-party signals into unified records. - Manage and optimize the martech stack (HubSpot, Clay, ZoomInfo, Lemlist, event tooling), eliminating overlaps. - Replace vanity metrics with honest reporting: real conversion rates, actual pipeline sources, and numbers the business can plan against. - Build effective marketing-to-sales handovers with shared lead definitions, SLAs, and account-based motions for expansion within existing accounts. You bring a proven track record building and running demand engines in B2B SaaS, with hands-on experience owning pipeline and revenue (not just leads and MQLs). You have deep technical fluency with HubSpot, intent platforms, and preferably Clay—able to build automation workflows, lead scoring, lifecycle stages, and attribution reporting yourself. You're a strong collaborator with RevOps, fluent in intent and signal-based marketing, and comfortable delivering honest numbers even when they differ from dashboard metrics. You have the judgment to set strategy with the CMO, prioritize ruthlessly, and hire and grow a team as the function scales. Nice-to-have experience includes account-based marketing for expansion, background in commodities/trading/fintech/data products, and content-led or community "dark social" demand creation.
