Mintlify is seeking its first Head of Finance to build and own the complete finance function for a rapidly growing developer tools company. With 100M+ annual developer users, 20,000+ customer companies (including Anthropic, Microsoft, PayPal, Spotify, Coinbase, X), and a recent $45M Series B led by A16Z and Salesforce Ventures, Mintlify is at an inflection point where finance leadership is critical to scaling. In this builder role, you will own the entire finance function from day one, including the operating model, forecasting, board and investor reporting, budgets, pricing economics, and cash strategy. You'll work with an outsourced accounting partner initially and build an internal team over time. The business model is complex and interesting: hybrid self-serve and sales-led revenue, usage-based and credit billing, multi-year enterprise contracts, and a subsidiary operation. Key responsibilities include building and owning a driver-based operating model, producing board and investor materials, rolling out functional budgets and running budget-vs-actual reviews with team leads, partnering with Sales and Operations on pricing and deal economics, managing treasury and runway planning, overseeing monthly close and payroll, and scoping and hiring the finance team. You should have 8+ years of progressive finance experience with leadership at a high-growth SaaS company ($10M–$100M ARR). You've built and owned an operating model, produced investor materials, understand usage-based billing and hybrid PLG + sales-led mechanics deeply, have stood up a finance function from scratch, and have been through at least one fundraise or major diligence process. You know what excellent controllership looks like and can hire and manage it. You're high-agency, fast, and low-ego. Nice-to-have qualifications include multi-entity/subsidiary accounting exposure, experience selecting and implementing modern finance stacks, and CPA or equivalent accounting depth.
