Baseten is seeking a Head of Environment to lead the company's global workplace strategy and physical spaces as it scales from ~300 to 2,000+ employees over the next few years. This role combines operations, hospitality, design, and strategic planning to create distinctive, world-class work environments.
You will own Baseten's global workplace and real estate strategy, developing long-term roadmaps for physical footprint evolution across headquarters, satellite offices, and future international locations. Responsibilities include leading real estate planning, site selection, expansions, and significant capital investments while maintaining an uncompromising quality bar.
You'll build and operate exceptional workplaces end-to-end, overseeing office buildouts, relocations, and launches. You'll define the physical expression of Baseten—shaping interior design, amenities, office traditions, and the experience for employees, customers, candidates, investors, and guests. Leadership of the Workplace Experience team is critical; you'll develop a high-performing organization that scales with the company.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years leading Workplace, Environment, or Employee Experience functions at hypergrowth tech companies, scaling from hundreds to thousands of employees across multiple U.S. and international offices. You understand what breaks during explosive growth and have built the teams, systems, and operating models to stay ahead. You build trust quickly with founders and senior leaders, develop intuition for authentic company culture, and make high-quality decisions involving significant real estate investments and competing priorities.
You possess exceptional taste, an uncompromising attention to detail, and a hospitality mindset. You're a builder who creates scalable systems and experiences. You're based in San Francisco and willing to spend the majority of time in the office with regular travel to other locations.
