AngelList Venture is building financial infrastructure for private markets and venture capital. The company supports $200B+ in assets and $90B in annual money movement, with a platform that has powered investments into over 13,000 startups, including 300+ unicorns. Today, 57% of top-tier U.S. VC deals involve AngelList investors. You will lead the Foundations engineering team, which owns the core infrastructure and systems that power the platform. This team of ~50 engineers and growing is responsible for the technical backbone supporting massive scale and real-money transactions. The role reports directly to the CEO with company-level scope and strategic influence. Key responsibilities include: - Leading and growing the Foundations engineering team - Owning the architecture and reliability of core infrastructure supporting $200B+ in assets - Personally shipping code and features alongside directing the team - Solving novel problems around AI agents as first-class platform users, including sandboxing, audit trails, rollback capabilities, and security for systems handling real money - Setting technical direction for how the platform evolves to support non-human users safely and reliably - Ensuring the infrastructure can scale with the company's ambitions in private markets This is a hands-on leadership role where you're expected to be both a strategic leader and an individual contributor. You'll work on some of the hardest problems in venture capital infrastructure, including emerging challenges around agent-based systems and financial safety.
