Luminary is an AI-native platform transforming wealth transfer services for high-net-worth households managing over $90 trillion in assets. The company converts complex estate planning and ownership documents into structured data that powers agent-driven workflows for tax and wealth transfer advice at scale. With 1,000+ customers including multi-family offices, private banks, trust companies, and law firms, Luminary is expanding from wealth transfer advice into trust administration and estate distribution.
As Head of Design, you will lead Luminary's design organization and serve as a hands-on product designer. You'll manage two Principal Designers, execute a growth plan for the design team, and partner closely with the Head of Product and Head of Engineering to shape product strategy and design operations across the company.
Key responsibilities include: leading the design function (product and brand design with product focus); managing and developing the design team; setting the vision and quality bar for design to ensure cohesive, intuitive user experiences; partnering with Product and Engineering on strategy, roadmap, and execution; developing deep customer understanding of wealth management workflows; driving end-to-end design for strategic initiatives from research through launch; establishing scalable design processes and feedback loops; evolving the design system for consistency and speed; and championing a culture of customer empathy and continuous improvement.
You'll work alongside the CPO, CEO (former Head of Wealth Management at AllianceBernstein), and CTO in a fast-moving environment where design is a competitive advantage. The role requires designing complex B2B SaaS products for both web and mobile, with the opportunity to have measurable impact on the business and shape the future of wealth management technology.
