Tint.ai enables SaaS platforms and marketplaces to embed insurance as a native feature, transforming how brands offer coverage to their customers. The company has raised $30M from top-tier investors including Y Combinator and QED, and counts Turo, Deel, uShip, Guesty, and others as customers.
You will own the Cyber insurance vertical end-to-end, building a new line of business from a live pilot stage into a repeatable, scaled distribution engine. This is a 0-to-1 builder role with real capacity already secured and a named design partner (CodeAnt, an AI-native vulnerability scanner) ready to launch.
Year one focuses on distribution, operations, and speed: taking a solid off-the-shelf cyber product and embedding it into security platforms' workflows, learning from real submissions, and proving the embedded distribution thesis. You will manage the P&L, own key metrics (submissions, bind rate, attach rate, premium, loss ratio), and iterate based on live data.
Year two is where the product deepens: you will lead the case for using partner security telemetry to underwrite cyber risk more dynamically than static applications allow, and decide when and how to build that capability.
Key responsibilities:
- Define cyber vertical strategy: target segments, partner selection, program design, and growth path
- Prove and scale embedded distribution by evolving the CodeAnt pilot into a repeatable motion across MSPs, MSSPs, compliance platforms, cloud tooling, and AI-native security players
- Source and close brand partnerships; structure commercial terms including partner compensation and revenue share
- Manage MGA and carrier relationships; negotiate commission structure and authority; bring on additional capacity partners as volume grows
- Partner with Product and Engineering to design quoting, binding, and post-purchase flows that feel native to security platforms
- Monitor submission quality, conversion, claims experience, and partner performance; iterate and fix what breaks
- Evolve the underwriting thesis as volume builds; represent Tint with carriers, brokers, security platforms, and the broader cyber market
Requirements:
- 8+ years in cyber insurance (underwriting, broking, program management, or MGA/insurtech side)
- Direct experience building or launching a cyber insurance program, or early-stage experience at a technology-led cyber carrier or MGA
- Real working knowledge of cyber risk: ransomware and extortion, data breach and privacy liability, network security failure, business interruption, social engineering, funds transfer fraud
- Fluency in the security tooling landscape; ability to hold credible conversations with CTOs and CISOs about their stack
- Experience working with carriers, MGAs, brokers, or reinsurers to secure capacity and negotiate authority and commission structures
- Track record of sourcing and closing partnerships, not just managing existing ones
- Demonstrated 0-to-1 experience: built something from nothing with incomplete information and no established playbook
- Comfort owning a number and being measured on it
- Experience in fast-moving environments (startups, MGAs, program administrators)
Preferred:
- Sold through or partnered with MSPs, MSSPs, compliance platforms, or security software vendors
- Worked on embedded insurance or digital distribution models
- Experience with data-driven or security-signal-based cyber underwriting
- Built partner-facing or API-based distribution
- Surplus lines placement experience
- Certifications (RPLU, CIC, CPCU) or security credentials (CISSP, Security+)
