Smava is one of Germany's largest fintech companies, operating as an online credit comparison platform serving over 300,000 customers. The company is transforming the consumer lending market by making credit transparent, fair, and affordable.
As Head of Banking, you will lead the banking partnership strategy and operations for Smava's marketplace. You will manage all banking-related functions, including partner relationship management, commercial negotiations, credit product development, and KPI performance across the supply side of the platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full ownership of partner bank relationships and commercial terms, serving as the central point of contact for banking partners and internal C-level stakeholders
- Disciplinary and functional leadership of the Banking Team, steering the supply-side strategy for the credit comparison offering
- Strategic and commercial negotiations with partner banks, building and maintaining a strong network within the German banking sector
- Product development and expansion of the credit offering, identifying new banking products and market opportunities
- Performance management and KPI oversight, developing revenue and business development models in close collaboration with the CEO and executive team
- Market analysis and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities in the German financial and credit markets
You will be a generalist with strong commercial acumen, able to understand KPIs, business cases, and revenue dynamics. You bring relevant experience from banking, fintech, business development, or consulting roles, with proven success in partner management and team leadership. You are an excellent negotiator with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable with business travel to meet banking partners. You are fluent in German (native level) and English, with a degree in business administration or equivalent relevant qualifications.
