Kubo Care is a seed-stage healthtech company building non-invasive safety and wellbeing devices for seniors using contactless sensing and on-device AI. The company has raised from top-tier investors (NEA, Antler) and is deployed across India, US, and Japan. You will own the hardware product ecosystem end-to-end as the company transitions from prototype and pilot deployments to scaled production and a tiered multi-sensor product line.
Your responsibilities span embedded software and firmware architecture, device productization and production discipline, third-party contract manufacturing management, BOM and component sourcing, regulatory certification and import compliance, and solution architecture for the broader product ecosystem. You will scout and qualify contract manufacturers in India/China/Taiwan, manage vendor relationships, oversee the transition from lab assembly to repeatable production, and design OTA-ready hardware revisions. You will also own hardware forensics and root-cause analysis when field devices require investigation, and mentor junior hardware engineers as the team scales.
You must have 8+ years of hands-on hardware product development from concept through production in consumer electronics, IoT, or medical/wellness devices, with at least one product taken from prototype to third-party manufacturing. You need embedded depth with ARM-based SBCs and microcontrollers, firmware, driver-level work, and sensor integration. Direct experience managing contract manufacturers or OEM/ODM partners in India or China is essential. You should be comfortable reading schematics, running structured hardware root-cause experiments, and engaging with board vendors. A degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
Strong-to-have qualifications include IoT or sensor ecosystem product experience, OTA update architecture knowledge, familiarity with regulatory landscapes (BIS CRS, WPC/ETA, import compliance), healthcare or senior care product exposure, and startup 0-to-1 experience. The role is on-site and full-time in Bengaluru, reporting to the Founder/CEO. You will be part of a core seed-stage team building a hardware-plus-AI moat in elder care at the moment of global scaling.
