Ramp is seeking a Senior Business Systems Engineer to own and evolve the Quote-to-Cash systems that power the company's $200B+ in annualized spend automation across 70,000+ customers. This role sits within Growth Engineering's Business Systems Engineering team and combines hands-on Salesforce platform engineering with systems design and commercial acumen.
You will design, develop, test, and deploy applications on the Salesforce Platform, with a focus on building reliable integrations between Salesforce CPQ, Ironclad, Billing/Core, and adjacent business systems. Key responsibilities include owning data contracts, idempotency, error handling, reconciliation, and safe lifecycle changes for quotes, contracts, and subscriptions. You'll design and maintain solutions on iPaaS platforms (Homegrown, Workato, Clay, etc.), drive architectural decisions on patterns and tool usage, and write technical specifications including architecture diagrams, data models, and process flows.
The role requires deep expertise in Salesforce (7+ years), with 5+ years in systems architecture and integrations. You must have strong Apex and Lightning Web Components experience, working knowledge of Python, and familiarity with APIs, synchronous/asynchronous methods, streaming APIs, and publish/subscribe patterns. Experience with the broader GTM stack (Gong, Leandata, CPQ, billing systems), data pipelines, CI/CD processes, and Salesforce governance is essential. You'll partner closely with Deal Desk, Legal, Finance, Billing Engineering, Product, and GTM teams to translate complex commercial requirements into durable system behavior.
Ideal candidates have experience in Quote-to-Cash domains (CPQ, pricing, contract lifecycle management, billing, subscriptions), strong API and integration-design skills, and the ability to handle retries, duplicate events, partial failures, and data reconciliation. Nice-to-haves include Snowflake/DBT, Kafka, and Agile methodologies.
