Calm is seeking a Growth Product Manager to drive subscriber growth, activation, revenue per user, and retention for its direct-to-consumer mental health platform. The role owns the growth product strategy and roadmap, translating company revenue and user goals into prioritized bets across activation, conversion, and retention.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Developing and owning Calm's growth product strategy and roadmap, translating company goals into a prioritized set of experiments and initiatives
- Running a high-velocity A/B testing program: forming sharp hypotheses, designing and shipping experiments with engineering and data science teams, and analyzing results honestly
- Identifying and removing friction from key user journeys (onboarding, habit-building, account flows) using quantitative and qualitative data
- Building habit-formation features that help users plan, track, and celebrate progress to convert first sessions into daily practices
- Writing clear PRDs that spell out the job to be done, opportunity, success metrics, and shipping plans, bringing cross-functional teams along as priorities evolve
- Partnering with engineering, product design, marketing, data, and research teams to ship and iterate on winning experiments
The ideal candidate is a data-driven, experimentation-focused product leader with deep expertise in consumer subscription economics and habit formation. You'll be comfortable with rapid iteration, statistical rigor, and translating complex tradeoffs into clear decisions. Strong documentation and organizational skills are essential—you'll maintain experiment logs, results archives, and roadmaps that enable the team to build on learnings rather than rediscover them.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of relevant experience in growth product management or equivalent
- Proven track record of owning a growth metric (subscriber growth, conversion, retention) and setting strategy to move it across consumer mobile (iOS/Android) and web
- Fluency in consumer subscription economics (trial/paywall conversion, LTV, churn) and how product decisions impact them
- Expertise in fast experiment design and A/B testing with strong statistical judgment
- Data fluency: ability to source and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to prioritize roadmaps and make feature decisions
- Deep understanding of habit formation mechanics (streaks, reminders, progress tracking, celebration) and how to drive repeat daily usage
- Proficiency with AI tools to drive team velocity and build lasting workflows
- Technical agility: comfortable discussing complexity and tradeoffs with engineers, able to prototype ideas independently
- Exceptional documentation and organizational skills
- Strong communication and persuasion skills; ability to present thinking clearly to stakeholders and leadership, hold positions with conviction, and update based on evidence
Nice to haves:
- Experience with subscription-based consumer tech (onboarding, paywalls, retention)
- Familiarity with product analytics or experimentation tools (e.g., Amplitude)
- Background in health & wellness domain
- Experience developing features that drive habit formation and lifestyle change
