Affirm is seeking a Group Product Manager to lead a portfolio of zero-to-one innovation initiatives within the ZT1 Labs group, a small senior team working directly with the CEO on the company's most important new bets. This is a hands-on builder role with direct product ownership and no direct people management responsibilities. You will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for new products and platforms, partnering closely with engineers, analysts, and designers to build and launch, and with revenue and business teams to bring new products to market and scale. You'll work closely with the CEO and executive team to turn high-level ideas into durable, scalable businesses. Key responsibilities include: **Understanding Customers & Strategic Context:** Build deep understanding of Affirm's global network of users, merchants, and partners. Connect customer insights and market trends to long-term company strategy to identify zero-to-one innovation opportunities. Track relevant product, technology, and industry shifts to inform product direction. **Setting Vision, Strategy, and Roadmap:** Partner with the CEO and senior leaders to define problem spaces and opportunity areas. Craft clear product vision and strategic narrative for the innovation portfolio, translating into focused and prioritized roadmap. Define crisp outcomes and success metrics tied to business impact (GMV, profitability, conversion, retention, long-term moat). **Leading Zero-to-One Product Development:** Drive full lifecycle for new products and platforms: discovery, validation, MVP definition, launch, and iteration. Own full UI/UX using AI tools to build and iterate on working prototypes. Write and refine customer-facing copy across product experience. Independently analyze customer behavior, build funnels, and use data to guide decisions. Own experimentation end-to-end including hypotheses, test design, success metrics, results analysis, and iteration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to sync ZT1 roadmaps with core product roadmaps. **Cross-Functional & Executive Leadership:** Lead cross-functional group (engineering, design, data, risk, capital, operations, revenue, legal, compliance) through ambiguous and complex work. Serve as thought partner to CEO and executive team on new product bets, tradeoffs, and prioritization. Communicate clearly and often—framing decisions, risks, and tradeoffs; writing high-quality docs; maintaining alignment. **Raising the Bar for Product Craft:** Establish product patterns, decision frameworks, and execution standards that make zero-to-one work repeatable and scalable. Model strong product thinking, rigor, and judgment for senior peers without managing them directly. Help shape culture and operating model of ZT1 function. **Requirements:** *Experience:* - ~8–10+ years of product management experience with strong track record shipping and scaling consumer-facing or platform products - Previous ownership of technical software products end-to-end with ability to clearly articulate business impact - Direct experience leading zero-to-one or highly ambiguous product areas with meaningful outcomes - Experience working closely with engineering, data, design, and other teams without direct authority - Skilled at operating in complex environments where success depends on coordinating cross-functional work across multiple groups - Founder or early-stage startup experience is a plus *Skills:* - Hands-on fluency with AI tools for prototyping, design, content, and analysis, with judgment to evaluate and refine output - Comfortable doing work directly without dedicated design, analytics, or content partners - Strong communicator capable of securing alignment and decisions from broad groups of senior stakeholders with differing priorities - Adept at influencing engineering teams outside reporting line—able to guide them toward building what product needs - High judgment in ambiguous spaces—able to take incomplete or conflicting information and turn it into clear, actionable plan - Strong commercial instincts—able to contribute to pitches, negotiations, and contract evaluations when product work intersects with business strategy *Behaviors & Traits:* - Bias toward action; cares about unblocking teams and driving meaningful progress quickly - Comfortable moving between strategy and execution—from long-term roadmap thinking to writing specs or digging into edge cases - Strong organizational discipline and interpersonal skills, able to navigate complex dynamics while maintaining momentum - Deep sense of ownership—holds high bar for quality and ships products on time - Mission-driven and customer-obsessed, motivated to build honest, transparent financial products
