As Group Financial Controller reporting to the Group Accounting Director, you will be the accounting backbone for Mistral's global operations. This is a purely accounting-focused role with significant responsibility for financial accuracy, compliance, and control across all group entities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting detailed reviews of accounting entries (journal entries, accruals, provisions, intercompany transactions) to ensure IFRS and French GAAP compliance
- Partnering with the Accounting Ops Lead to ensure robustness in the close process and record-to-report outputs
- Implementing and enforcing financial control frameworks including segregation of duties, approval workflows, and reconciliation processes
- Serving as primary liaison with external Big 4 auditors during statutory audits, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of audit requests
- Overseeing preparation of audit-ready financial statements for all group entities, including consolidated and statutory reporting
- Collaborating with the Tax team on VAT, corporate tax, payroll tax, and regulatory compliance
- Reviewing and approving balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analyses, and flux analyses
- Supporting design and monitoring of key controls to prevent errors, fraud, or misstatements
- Reviewing management reporting packages including variance analyses and ad-hoc financial analyses for senior leadership
You bring at least 10 years of accounting experience including Big 4 audit background with expertise in statutory audits, financial due diligence, and accounting reviews. You have hands-on experience in high-growth tech, startup, or scale-up environments, ideally in AI, software, or deep tech. Deep expertise in IFRS and French GAAP is essential, along with strong proficiency in SAP S/4HANA and advanced Excel. You are detail-oriented, analytically rigorous, collaborative, and proactive in identifying and mitigating financial risks. Fluency in English is required; French is a plus.
