The Finance team at HX is lean and AI-native, operating as an operational engine for a high-growth business. Everyone on the team is relatively new to their role by design, reflecting the company's rapid scaling.
As Group Financial Accountant, you will own the end-to-end revenue and accounts receivable cycle in NetSuite, ensuring sales orders are raised promptly and invoices reflect correct FRS102 revenue recognition treatment. You'll drive the month-end close to a defined timetable, completing by working day four with all balance sheet reconciliations evidenced and reviewed by working day seven.
Key responsibilities include managing UK VAT compliance from preparation through filing with audit-ready workpapers, taking full ownership of UK payroll processing once the HiBob transition completes, and overseeing banking, treasury, and payment controls including cash flow forecasting and bank reconciliations. You'll identify and deliver at least one process improvement or automation each quarter, keeping SOPs current and treating documentation as a control rather than administrative overhead.
You must have operated core finance processes end-to-end in a fast-paced or high-growth environment with clear personal ownership of recurring cycles such as revenue, VAT, payroll, or month-end close. Hands-on NetSuite experience across multiple functional areas (Advanced Revenue Management, intercompany transactions, reconciliation workflows) is a prerequisite. You should have prepared and filed UK VAT returns with solid understanding of coding, reconciliation, and non-UK sales/purchase treatment, and taken meaningful responsibility for month-end close processes including understanding full sequences, managing to timetables, and identifying control gaps. A consistent instinct for improving and automating manual processes is essential, along with the character and values that make finance work in a high-trust environment: honesty about problems, clear written communication, and collaborative mindset.
