K2 Space is building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown, backed by $450M in funding from leading investors including Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, T. Rowe Price, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. The company is mass-producing advanced satellite platforms for missions across LEO to deep space, with multiple launches planned through 2026 and 2027.
As Global Supply Manager for Mechanical, you will define and implement procurement strategies for K2 Space's mechanical supply chain. You will serve as the subject matter expert in supply chain best practices for hardware, building a world-class supply chain that drives competitive advantage. Your responsibilities include:
- Define company-wide strategy for sourcing mechanical commodities including machined parts, mechanisms, composites, COPVs, and raw materials
- Lead cradle-to-grave supplier management: identify capabilities within the supply base, onboard vendors to add capacity or capabilities, manage quoting and order placement, work with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues, and track build milestones until hardware delivery
- Drive negotiations on contracts with key suppliers to meet cost, schedule, and quality targets
- Own end-to-end Bill of Material (BOM) management for owned assemblies
- Coach team members to operate at high standards and ensure success on program build targets
You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver hardware that meets cost, schedule, and quality targets in support of company-critical missions. Key skills include deep understanding of manufacturing market and capabilities, technical procurement of mechanical hardware, and comprehensive BOM management. This is a fast-paced role in a groundbreaking Series C space startup.
