Base Power is rebuilding America's electricity infrastructure by deploying distributed battery networks to transform the centralized grid into a resilient, abundant system. The Global Supply Manager will own end-to-end sourcing strategy and vendor management for all software, SaaS platforms, cloud services, developer tools, and IT hardware that keep the company running across engineering, operations, finance, and construction teams. Key responsibilities include leading sourcing for IT hardware, SaaS, cloud services, telecommunications, and technology-related services while optimizing cost, quality, scalability, and supplier performance. You will draft, review, and negotiate contracts with software vendors, hardware manufacturers, and cloud providers—managing licensing, subscriptions, renewals, and support agreements. The role involves applying benchmarking and commercial analysis to validate supplier pricing, recommending appropriate commercial structures (subscription vs. perpetual licensing, consumption-based pricing, enterprise agreements), and partnering with IT, Software Engineering, Finance, and Legal to align solutions with business needs. You will manage RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, and ongoing performance monitoring while staying current on technology markets, pricing trends, and emerging vendors to identify savings and innovation opportunities. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build a sourcing organization from the ground up with meaningful ownership, direct access to business leaders, and hands-on experience in negotiation, commercial strategy, contract drafting, and executive communication. Ideal candidates demonstrate high ownership and work ethic, learn quickly in ambiguous environments, communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders, and possess sharp analytical and commercial instincts. Background in procurement, sourcing, technology, finance, consulting, or operations is preferred. Base operates at startup pace with in-person collaboration; priorities shift quickly and roles may expand based on business needs.
