Base Power is a distributed battery company transforming the electrical grid into a resilient, abundant system. As Global Supply Manager for Board Electricals, you will own end-to-end sourcing and supplier relationships for board-level electronics components (passives, actives, interconnects) critical to Base's home battery systems.
You will lead RFx processes from requirements scoping through supplier selection and award, building should-cost models to benchmark pricing and identify cost-down opportunities. You'll negotiate piece pricing, tooling, payment terms, and master agreements with key suppliers, ensuring contracts are in place before production and that commercial terms scale effectively.
Owning the commercial relationship with strategic suppliers, you'll track performance, manage escalations, and build trust to move quickly during critical production ramps. You'll develop and execute commodity strategies optimizing cost, supply continuity, and risk across a global supply base, monitoring market dynamics, capacity constraints, and technology shifts.
You'll drive supplier readiness across production ramp and sustained manufacturing, managing capacity planning, lead time management, and obsolescence mitigation through end-of-life. Your analysis and recommendations on contract awards, cost reviews, risk mitigation, and supply continuity will inform engineering and executive stakeholders.
You bring 3+ years of sourcing experience in board-level electronics, with strong understanding of component cost drivers, supplier dynamics, and full lifecycle management. Excel proficiency, organizational skills, and clear communication are essential. You're willing to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 25% travel). Preferred experience includes first-principles supplier negotiation, executive-level escalation management, and MRP/ERP systems.
