Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Global Sourcing Manager for Aircraft Composites to serve as the domain expert for composites commodities. This is a high-impact role responsible for securing critical components, materials, and services that power Anduril's defense systems, which are powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing commodity strategies for composites focused on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience. You will own end-to-end responsibility for delivering quality parts at the right cost and timeline. The role involves leading RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, managing relationships with contract manufacturers, and ensuring continuity of supply while managing risk and negotiating costs.
You will partner closely with engineering teams and contract manufacturers to influence technical design specifications and customize manufacturing requirements. The position requires detailed analysis of quote submissions using total cost of ownership (TCO) frameworks and data-driven decision-making. You'll work across cross-functional teams to support prototype requirements, execute build milestones, and lead sourcing activities.
Additional responsibilities include negotiating key supplier agreements, managing supplier performance metrics (delivery, quality, cost, innovation), conducting technology reviews to executive staff, and serving as the primary escalation point for composites commodities. The role involves influencing contract manufacturers' processes, capital expenditure decisions, and technology choices.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field, plus 3+ years of experience in supply chain commodity management of composites manufacturing and/or sourcing engineering. Ability to travel up to 50% and relocate to Costa Mesa, CA is required.
Preferred qualifications include a degree in mechanical or materials engineering, prior experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, or high-tech industries, expertise in TCO analysis, strategic commodity planning, proven cross-functional leadership, and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI clearance.
