You will join Rippling's Global Payroll Operations team as a critical hire focused on expanding payroll capabilities outside the US. This role owns all operational aspects across select countries, manages relationships with external partners, and drives expansion into new customer segments and geographies. You will bring country-specific payroll expertise to support the development of Rippling's natively built payroll software.
Key responsibilities:
- Execute timely payroll, filings, and payments for customers across key countries
- Drive issue resolution and communication with government agencies and partners; directly interface with customers to resolve issues on their behalf
- Work closely with Global Payroll Engineering and Product teams to ensure natively built payroll software supports key compliance requirements, product bugs are quickly addressed, and internal tooling is properly prioritized
- Contribute to product development by identifying gaps and requirements based on operational experience
This role requires significant cross-departmental engagement with major impact on product and customer experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 4+ years in global payroll processing roles
- Minimum 2+ years in client-facing roles
- Strong Costa Rica payroll experience (required)
- Experience running payroll in-house with common Costa Rica payroll software
- Bonus: experience running payroll in other LATAM countries
- Understanding of payroll concepts, regulations, and leave entitlements
- Knowledge of Costa Rica labor legislation and tax requirements
- Experience with payroll-related systems and software
- Proficiency with Google Suite or Microsoft Office (Docs/Sheets/Excel); familiarity with Salesforce, JIRA, Confluence a plus
- Ability to review and validate calculations
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under strict deadlines
- Business fluent in both Spanish and English
