OpenAI is seeking a Global Mobility Tax Manager to build and lead a scalable global mobility tax program. This is a strategic, high-impact role for someone who can translate complex tax requirements into clear policies, durable controls, and practical guidance for employees and the business. You will own the end-to-end strategy and operating model for mobility tax across international and domestic business travel, assignment planning, cross-border moves, and other priority mobility scenarios. Key responsibilities include: - Developing the global mobility tax framework, principles, governance, and service model in partnership with Corporate Tax teams - Building clear policies and decision frameworks for international and domestic business travel, assignment planning, cross-border transfers, and other mobility scenarios - Designing the end-to-end operating model, including ownership, handoffs, controls, escalations, employee communications, and vendor responsibilities - Partnering with Payroll, Corporate Tax, Finance, Legal, People, and business leaders to identify tax implications early and support sound workforce decisions - Establishing reporting, dashboards, program health metrics, and issue-management routines that surface risk and drive timely remediation - Automating high-volume workflows and leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve case handling, documentation, data quality, and employee support - Managing external tax advisors and vendor partners, ensuring service quality and delivery against agreed standards - Monitoring regulatory and business changes, assessing program impact, and continuously strengthening policies and controls You will lead through expertise and influence across multiple functions, translating technical requirements into practical policies and workflows. This role requires someone who can drive complex cross-functional programs, influence senior stakeholders, and make sound decisions in ambiguous situations. Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of experience in global mobility tax, expatriate tax, or business-traveler compliance, with experience in both leading tax advisory firms and in-house global mobility tax functions. You should have built or scaled mobility tax programs in complex, fast-growing, multinational environments and possess knowledge of individual income tax, payroll withholding and reporting, social security, tax equalization, and business-traveler compliance. Strong data, systems, and automation skills are essential.
