Lightning AI is seeking a Global Head of Talent Acquisition to lead the company's end-to-end recruiting strategy. The company, founded in 2019 and built around PyTorch Lightning, provides an AI-native platform for developing, training, and deploying AI systems. Following a merger with Voltage Park, Lightning AI combines developer-first software with cost-efficient, large-scale compute infrastructure. The company operates globally with offices in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, and London, backed by top-tier investors including Coatue, Index Ventures, and Bain Capital Ventures.
In this builder-operator role, you will own global talent acquisition strategy end-to-end, designing and running the recruiting function that enables Lightning AI to hire world-class software engineers, infrastructure and data center talent, and AI researchers at the speed required by the company's roadmap. You'll report to the Chief People Officer and be responsible for team building, process design, tooling, employer brand, and direct relationships with technical and executive leaders.
Key responsibilities include: building and leading a high-performing recruiting team with specialized sourcing capacity for hard-to-find AI, infrastructure, and data center talent; partnering directly with technical leaders to translate roadmap and headcount plans into fast-moving hiring plans; owning employer brand and top-of-funnel strategy to compete against leading AI-native and infrastructure companies; designing and continuously improving interview processes, leveling, and evaluation practices; building data infrastructure for pipeline health, funnel metrics, time-to-fill, and forecasting; navigating multi-country hiring complexity in partnership with Legal and People Ops; and representing the People function in executive planning conversations on growth and workforce strategy.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-moving, ownership-driven culture that values builders, open communication, and continuous improvement. You'll need deep experience in talent acquisition, ideally with exposure to technical hiring, scaling recruiting functions, and competing for talent in tight markets.
