Adyen is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join the Group Finance team in Amsterdam. This role is central to the Record-to-Report (R2R) cycle for Operational Expenses, positioning you as a critical link between business operations and financial data integrity at a scaled, listed financial institution.
Key responsibilities include owning the accuracy of GL bookings and maintaining a clean Trial Balance; applying rigorous controls to P2P and R2R cycles, including validation of FinOps data, supplier accrual management, and prepaid asset reconciliation; acting as a financial gatekeeper for high-value transactions to ensure accuracy and relieve Financial Controllers of transactional approvals; regularly reviewing the full ledger to detect trends, vulnerabilities, and anomalies as a first line of defense for data integrity; managing the Fixed Asset Register including capitalization, depreciation, and IFRS 16 lease accounting entries; and managing intercompany bookings and reconciliations while performing month-end variance analysis to validate OpEx trends and support internal/external audits.
You bring at least three years of GL accounting experience, specifically within P2P cycles and R2R processes. You are detail-oriented and passionate about balance sheet integrity, collaborative across multiple stakeholders (FinOps, Controllers, Tax), proactive in identifying process improvements and automation opportunities, and adaptable in managing multiple concurrent projects from lease entries to intercompany reconciliations. Adyen is a payments and financial technology platform serving major clients like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft, operating as an office-first company with a focus on in-person collaboration.
