Salary: USD 70,000 - 85,000 / annual
Blank Street is seeking a Founding General Manager to launch and lead their first location in Providence, Rhode Island. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build a new café from the ground up, establishing the brand presence and culture in an entirely new market.
You will own all aspects of the café's operations and success. On the people side, you'll hire, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Shift Leads and Baristas, creating an engaging culture where team members feel supported and excited to contribute. You'll manage hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, and training to build a capable, motivated team.
Operationally, you'll ensure exceptional hospitality and quality standards are met every day. You'll lead by example, inspire your team to deliver warm and consistent service, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. You'll own day-to-day operations including inventory management, labor optimization, and operational excellence, while partnering with headquarters on product launches and new initiatives.
On the business side, you'll drive sales and profitability for your location. You'll build relationships within the Providence community, represent the Blank Street brand authentically, and use data and customer feedback to continuously improve performance.
The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of leadership experience in hospitality, retail, or fast-paced consumer businesses. You're a hands-on leader with strong operational and financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for developing people and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You thrive in fast-moving environments, prioritize effectively, and lead with energy, care, and accountability.
