Salary: USD 110,000 - 160,000 / annual
Via is transforming transportation through technology-enabled intermodal transit services. As General Manager for the Midwest Region, you will lead all on-site daily operations for Via's service, managing a large team of drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and support staff. This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial role where you'll build operational processes from the ground up rather than follow an established playbook.
Key responsibilities include: managing real-time operational issues as the primary point of contact for drivers and dispatchers; leading, coaching, and developing a large ground team while fostering a collaborative environment; serving as the face of operations by building relationships with driver partners, customers, community leaders, and local organizations; liaising with Via senior management and external partners; establishing clear metrics and KPIs with weekly visibility into team performance; preparing reports and analyzing data to improve processes and maximize efficiency; and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations.
You bring 5+ years of operations management experience and a Bachelor's degree. You are an independent self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments. You communicate with situational awareness and tact, excel at motivating teams, and have a proven track record developing people. You are detail-oriented, action-focused, adaptable to rapid change, and comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously. You are a problem-solver who challenges the status quo and finds creative solutions. You must be local to one of Via's Midwest operations or willing to relocate.
