Via is transforming transportation through technology-enabled intermodal transit services. As General Manager for the Midwest Region, you will lead a first-of-its-kind regional operation, managing daily operations while building the service from the ground up. You will manage on-site operations across Via's Midwest service, serving as the real-time point of contact for drivers, dispatchers, and the broader operations team. This role spans entrepreneurship, business development, and operations management—you'll be building processes and solutions in real-time rather than following an established playbook. Key responsibilities include: leading and developing a large team of drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and support staff; fostering a collaborative and energetic culture; serving as the face of the operation and building relationships with driver partners, customers, community leaders, and local organizations; managing scheduling for round-the-clock operations; establishing clear metrics and KPIs with weekly visibility; analyzing data to improve processes and maximize efficiency; and ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations. You will liaise closely with Via senior management and external partners, prepare operational reports, and take ownership of resource allocation and customer satisfaction outcomes. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of operations management experience and a Bachelor's degree. You are an independent self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments. You communicate with situational awareness and tact, are detail-oriented and action-focused, and have a proven track record leading and developing support teams. You adapt quickly to change, solve problems creatively, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and are willing to relocate to the Midwest region or are already local to Via's operations.
