Salary: USD 67,000 - 80,000 / annual

Blank Street is a food and beverage brand on a mission to become the defining brand of its generation through elevated products, attention to detail, and memorable customer experiences. As General Manager for a Manhattan location, you will take full ownership of a single store unit and be accountable for all aspects of its success. Your primary responsibilities include: **Team Leadership & Development**: Hire, train, develop, and manage all team members. Create a motivating team culture through consistent celebration, coaching, and mentoring. Oversee shift lead training quality and ensure coffee accreditations are completed on time. Maintain strong team engagement scores and work collaboratively with the People Team on recruitment. **Operations & Inventory**: Own all ordering, vendor relations, waste management, and inventory counts. Manage the Inventory Management System and ensure compliance. Create and publish staff schedules in accordance with state and local labor laws. Review and approve timecards and PTO requests to ensure accurate, timely payment. **Product Quality & Customer Experience**: Spend 50-70% of your week leading by example behind the bar, producing technically excellent food and beverage products. Maintain food and beverage quality standards, ensure recipes are executed accurately and consistently, and uphold specialty coffee and espresso standards. Lead by example on facilities, product quality, and customer experience. **Store Performance & Growth**: Champion your store's financial performance and peak business throughput. Grow average order value, meet sales goals through creative initiatives, and gain team buy-in on shared vision. Develop meaningful ties with neighborhood businesses to build local brand loyalty. **Compliance & Standards**: Ensure safety, cleanliness, and presentation of the location in line with company policies. Maintain operational excellence by achieving company standard scores via the auditing platform. Quickly action feedback from operations and product quality audits. **Additional Duties**: Step in to cover scheduling gaps or time off as needed. Support light project work that contributes to the broader business and your professional development. **Requirements**: - 4+ years of experience managing and leading single-store unit operations in high-growth hospitality or consumer brands - Full-time availability: 45 hours per week, 5 days of availability required, with mandatory availability for 2 peak days (typically Friday, Saturday, Sunday) - Experience hiring, developing, and managing hospitality teams - Experience managing inventory and supply chain ordering - Strong knowledge of specialty coffee, espresso, and equipment (must-have) - Strong decision-making and multitasking skills - Strong interpersonal communication skills - Love for coffee, matcha, and customer service - Experience working in a unionized environment is a plus
