Salary: USD 67,000 - 80,000 / annual
Blank Street is a high-growth food and beverage brand on a mission to become the defining brand of its generation through elevated products and exceptional customer experiences. As General Manager for the Manhattan location, you will own full P&L responsibility for a single-unit coffee and matcha café operation.
You will lead and develop a hospitality team, managing all aspects of store operations including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Key responsibilities include maintaining product quality and food safety standards, managing inventory and vendor relationships, overseeing financial performance and sales growth, and ensuring operational excellence through company auditing standards.
You'll spend 50-70% of your time hands-on behind the bar, leading by example in customer service and beverage production. You'll also manage scheduling compliance with local labor laws, approve timecards and PTO, recruit talent in collaboration with the People Team, and develop community relationships to drive local brand loyalty.
The role requires strong decision-making, multitasking, and interpersonal communication skills. You'll be accountable for team engagement scores, store cleanliness and safety, achieving sales goals through creative initiatives, and maintaining operational audit standards. This is a full-time position requiring 45 hours per week across 5 days, with mandatory availability for 2 peak days (typically Friday-Sunday).
Ideal candidates have 4+ years managing single-unit operations in high-growth hospitality or consumer brands, experience hiring and developing teams, inventory management expertise, and strong knowledge of specialty coffee and espresso. Experience in unionized environments is a plus.
