Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, serving legal professionals and law firms of all sizes. This is a new General Manager role focused on establishing and scaling Clio's presence in Italy, one of Europe's largest legal markets with over 210,000 practicing lawyers, predominantly in small and individual practices. In this role, you will own the complete Italian market strategy and P&L. You will set the strategic vision for the country, define which segments and practice areas to prioritize, establish pricing and go-to-market approaches, and deliver against revenue, growth, and market share goals. You'll build the business case for Italy's growth plan, understanding how Italian civil law shapes firm structures, how the local courts operate, how the profession regulates fees, and what the Consiglio Nazionale Forense and local Ordini require. You will directly manage and mentor the sales team in Italy, recruiting and developing top-tier leadership talent with a focus on AI-native and AI-fluent professionals. You'll foster a culture of teamwork, transparency, creativity, and continuous improvement, positioning Clio as an employer of choice for commercial talent in Italian legaltech. Cross-functionally, you'll partner with the General Manager of International, sales leadership, revenue operations, product, engineering, marketing, and customer success. You'll act as the voice of the Italian market inside Clio, collaborate on campaigns and lead generation, monitor competitive and regulatory trends, and represent Clio at industry events, bar councils, and with potential partners. You'll also build relationships with key regulatory bodies and pursue endorsements and accreditations that matter to Italian firms. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a leadership style that maintains high standards while creating psychological safety. REQUIREMENTS: - Fluency in both Italian and English (English fluency is mandatory; Clio operates in English) - 8+ years in revenue leadership, including 5+ years leading managers - Track record of owning a regional or country P&L or comparable revenue mandate, with ability to articulate the strategy set, changes made, and results delivered - Experience growing a B2B SaaS business in an under-penetrated market, where work involves establishing a category as much as competing within one - Deep fluency in the Italian legal market: firm structures, professional regulation, buying decision processes in a market of mostly small/individual practices, and current state of technology adoption - Credibility with professional-services audiences; legal or legaltech experience is a strong advantage; if lacking, must demonstrate ability to earn trust quickly in expert, skeptical markets - Strong commercial instincts across pipeline, forecasting, segmentation, pricing, and capacity planning, with discipline to build clean operating rhythm early - Genuine public presence for Clio in Italy including events, webinars, bar councils, partner conversations, and media - Leadership style that holds high standards while maintaining psychological safety and encouraging honest feedback - Hands-on use of AI in your own work with clear perspective on where it improves commercial judgment and where it does not - Evidence of having changed how a team works because of AI (rebuilt process, redefined role, retired workflow) - Ability to hire and develop people who treat AI fluency as part of their craft
