NALA is a fintech company building cross-border payments infrastructure for the global diaspora and B2B partners. Founded in 2022, the company has grown 120x, raised $50M+, and was named to Forbes Fintech 50 in 2025 and 2026. NALA operates two core products: a consumer app enabling cheaper, faster cross-border transfers from UK/US/EU to Africa and Asia, and Rafiki, B2B payments infrastructure powering partners like MoneyGram and Western Union.
As Country Manager for Nigeria, you will own NALA's market position end-to-end in one of the world's largest and most complex remittance markets. Your core responsibilities include: maintaining sharp intelligence on customers, competitors, providers and regulatory developments; monitoring route-level volume, revenue, COGS and reliability; translating regional priorities into concrete local actions; building and managing relationships with Nigerian banks, mobile money operators and payment aggregators; leading commercial negotiations on pricing and service levels; supporting regulatory and compliance engagement; and surfacing risks and opportunities early.
You will be the primary point person NALA turns to for understanding on-the-ground market dynamics and their implications for product roadmap and strategy. You'll coordinate cross-functionally with product, compliance and operations teams, drive improvements in partner performance, and escalate material blockers and strategic trade-offs to senior leadership.
Must-have qualifications include proven track record operating in Nigeria's financial services, fintech or payments ecosystem; experience owning commercial relationships with banks, fintechs, mobile money operators or payment providers including leading negotiations; strong analytical instincts for route-level performance data; excellent stakeholder management and ability to operate in fast-moving, high-ambiguity environments; and deep knowledge of Nigeria's regulatory and licensing landscape for cross-border payments, including CBN framework and compliance requirements.
Nice-to-have qualifications include existing relationships with Nigerian banks or CBN-regulated payment service providers; experience working within remittance corridors with exposure to diaspora payment flows; familiarity with competitive landscape (Chipper Cash, LemFi, Grey, Flutterwave); experience coordinating cross-functional international teams; and understanding of FX dynamics and naira liquidity constraints.
