Salary: USD 70,000 - 80,000 / annual
Blank Street is a high-growth food and beverage brand on a mission to become the defining brand of its generation. As General Manager in Boston, you'll take full ownership of a single store location and lead all aspects of its operations and team.
You'll manage and develop a hospitality team, handling hiring, training, coaching, and mentoring to create an engaging culture. You'll own scheduling, timecards, payroll accuracy, and team engagement. You'll spend 50-70% of your time behind the bar, leading by example on customer service and technically excellent product execution. You're responsible for maintaining food and beverage quality standards, ensuring recipes are executed consistently, and achieving company audit standards.
Operationally, you'll manage all inventory, vendor relations, ordering, waste management, and compliance with the company's inventory system. You'll ensure the store meets safety, cleanliness, and presentation standards. You'll drive financial performance, grow average order value, meet sales goals through creative initiatives, and develop meaningful ties with neighborhood businesses to build local brand loyalty.
You'll also support light project work that contributes to broader business goals and your own professional development. The role requires 45 hours per week across 5 days, with availability for 2 peak days (typically Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
You bring 4+ years of experience managing single-store unit operations in high-growth hospitality or consumer brands. You have strong knowledge of specialty coffee, espresso, and equipment. You're skilled at hiring, developing, and managing hospitality teams; managing inventory and supply chain ordering; and making sound decisions under pressure. You have strong interpersonal communication skills and a genuine love for coffee and customer service. Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
