Salary: USD 70,000 - 80,000 / annual
Blank Street is a food and beverage brand on a mission to become the defining brand of its generation through elevated products and attention to detail. As a General Manager, you will take full ownership of a single-store location and be accountable for all aspects of its success.
You will lead and develop a hospitality team, handling hiring, training, coaching, and mentoring to create a motivating team culture. You'll manage scheduling, timecards, and payroll administration while ensuring compliance with state and local labor laws. Your responsibilities include overseeing staff training and coffee accreditations, maintaining team engagement scores, and stepping in to cover shifts as needed.
Operationally, you will own inventory management, vendor relations, waste management, and compliance with the company's inventory system. You'll spend 50-70% of your week working behind the bar, leading by example in customer service and producing technically excellent food and beverage products. You are responsible for maintaining food and beverage quality standards, ensuring recipes are executed consistently, and upholding safety, cleanliness, and presentation standards.
You will drive business growth and financial performance, managing store AOV, meeting sales goals through creative initiatives, and developing meaningful ties with neighborhood businesses to build local brand loyalty. You'll maintain operational excellence by achieving company standard scores through the auditing platform and quickly actioning feedback for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience managing and leading single-store unit operations in high-growth hospitality or consumer brands
- Full-time availability: 45 hours per week, 5 days of availability required, with mandatory availability for 2 peak days (typically Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Experience hiring, developing, and managing hospitality teams
- Experience managing inventory and supply chain ordering
- Strong knowledge of specialty coffee, espresso, and equipment (must-have)
- Strong decision-making and multitasking skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Love for coffee and customer service
- Experience in a unionized environment is a plus
