Blank Street is a high-growth food and beverage brand building a distinctive hospitality experience around premium coffee, matcha, and specialty drinks. They're seeking a General Manager for their Birmingham location who will operate as both a hospitality-first leader and entrepreneur.
You will own the complete operation of the store(s), balancing three core dimensions:
**Hospitality & Quality Leadership**: Ensure every drink meets exacting standards. Maintain immaculate front and back-of-house environments. Lead from the front, setting the pace during shifts and jumping in where needed most.
**People Leadership**: Own recruitment and hire high-potential talent. Train your team to become exceptional baristas. Develop the next generation of Blank Street leaders while ensuring all team members feel invested in and developed. Build a connected, engaged team through a welcoming environment and thoughtful team events.
**P&L Ownership**: Design shifts by station with precision, balancing labor productivity against demand. Oversee inventory, ordering, and waste management with discipline. Identify and execute tactical levers to drive store sales.
**Change Leadership**: Lead rollout of new initiatives, ensuring your team understands the "why" and "how" and drives real adoption. Propose and test new ideas in collaboration with operations management and headquarters.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in high-volume environments and loves building from scratch—hiring teams, setting culture, opening doors, and continuously raising the bar.
**Requirements:**
- 2+ years of experience leading operations in high-growth hospitality or consumer brands
- Proven background managing high-volume hospitality environments
- Demonstrated ability to build, train, and lead a team from the ground up
- Strong P&L understanding, including labor planning and inventory management
- Hands-on, highly action-oriented approach
- Genuine passion for coffee, matcha, and delivering exceptional customer experiences
