Salary: USD 140,000 - 185,000 / annual

Via Transportation is seeking a General Manager to lead the transformation and operation of a transit service in Tulare, California. This is a high-impact role requiring strategic vision, operational discipline, and strong team leadership in a fast-paced tech-enabled transportation company. You will own end-to-end performance of Via's transit operation, including service quality, partner relationships, financial outcomes, team culture, and long-term trajectory. The role involves making foundational decisions that will define how the service operates for years to come. Key responsibilities include: Lead the Transformation: Develop and communicate a clear vision for the transit service, build new operating systems and staffing models from the ground up, establish accountability structures, and guide the team through significant organizational change. Drive Service Performance and Operational Excellence: Own the operating strategy including on-time performance, rider experience, safety, and cost efficiency. Define and manage KPIs, translate performance data into operational decisions, design staffing models for 24/7 operations, and ensure regulatory compliance. Lead and Develop Your Team: Build and manage a frontline operations team, lead by example with visible field presence, develop frontline leaders, and set team culture and performance standards. Manage Partner Relationships: Earn and maintain partner trust through consistent communication and reliable execution. Represent Via to community stakeholders, local officials, and riders. Required qualifications: 5+ years leading complex operations, bachelor's degree, strategic thinking with data-driven decision-making, exceptional leadership and team-building experience, strong communication skills, adaptability, and problem-solving orientation. The role requires onsite presence in Tulare 5 days per week. Corporate housing in Visalia is provided to support the work-week schedule. Candidates can be based in Greater Los Angeles.
