Salary: USD 110,000 - 160,000 / annual
Via is transforming transportation through technology-enabled intermodal transit services. As General Manager, you will lead the daily operations of Via's first-of-its-kind service in Chemung County, NY. This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial role where you'll build operational systems from the ground up while managing a team of dispatchers and shift managers.
You will serve as the primary operational point of contact, managing real-time scheduling challenges for a round-the-clock service, mentoring on-site staff, and developing relationships with drivers, customers, community leaders, and local partners. You'll establish clear performance metrics, prepare operational reports, and drive continuous process improvements to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include: managing daily operations and resolving operational issues in real-time; scheduling and leading a team of dispatchers and shift managers; serving as the face of the operation in the community; liaising with Via senior management and external partners; developing KPI dashboards and weekly performance visibility; ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations; and fostering an engaged, collaborative team culture.
You bring 6+ years of operations management experience with a proven track record of leading support teams (3-5+ years). You are a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments with strong communication skills and exceptional leadership presence. You excel at problem-solving, managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and adapting quickly to change. Experience in transit operations is a plus. Drug test, criminal background check, and motor vehicle records check required.
