Salary: USD 140,000 - 185,000 / annual

Via is seeking a General Manager to lead the transformation and operation of its transit service in Tulare, California. This is a high-impact role requiring strategic vision, operational discipline, and strong leadership through significant organizational change. You will own end-to-end performance of Via's transit operation, including service quality, partner relationships, financial outcomes, team culture, and long-term trajectory. Key responsibilities include developing and executing a clear vision for the service, building new operating systems and staffing models, driving service performance metrics (on-time performance, rider experience, safety, cost efficiency), and leading a frontline operations team through a 24/7 operation. You will define and manage against clear KPIs, translating weekly and monthly performance data into actionable operational decisions. You'll design staffing models and scheduling strategies to ensure service reliability, ensure regulatory compliance, and represent Via to community stakeholders and local officials. Leadership responsibilities include hiring, coaching, and developing frontline teams, fostering a culture of world-class customer service, and building internal leaders who can grow with the service. The role requires being onsite in Tulare five days per week. Via will provide corporate housing in Visalia to support your schedule during the work week, though candidates can be based in the Greater Los Angeles area. Required qualifications: 5+ years leading complex operations, bachelor's degree, strategic and analytical thinking, exceptional communication and people leadership skills, comfort with high responsibility and fast-paced environments, ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and a problem-solving mindset. You should be adaptable, flexible, and thrive in ambiguous change environments.
