Salary: USD 110,000 - 160,000 / annual
Via is a TransitTech company pioneering shared, dynamic public mobility solutions for cities worldwide. As General Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of Via's intermodal transit service in Montgomery, Alabama—a first-of-its-kind deployment that requires building operational excellence from the ground up.
You will manage a team of dispatchers and shift managers, serving as the primary operational point of contact for drivers, customers, and community stakeholders. Your responsibilities include real-time problem-solving for scheduling and dispatch challenges, developing and monitoring KPIs, analyzing operational data to drive continuous improvement, and ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Beyond day-to-day operations, you will be the face of Via in Montgomery—building relationships with driver partners, local organizations, and community leaders. You'll work closely with Via's senior leadership and external partners to scale the service while maintaining world-class customer experience and fostering an engaged, collaborative team culture.
This is an entrepreneurial role that demands independent judgment, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity. You'll develop clear metrics and weekly visibility into performance, prepare analytical reports, and lead coaching and development of your team. The role spans operations management, business development, and people leadership—ideal for someone who enjoys building something new rather than executing an established playbook.
Required: 8–10 years of operations management experience, 3–5 years managing teams, proven track record in support/operations leadership, comfort with high responsibility and fast-paced environments, exceptional communication and problem-solving skills. Transit experience is a plus. Mandatory background check, drug test, and motor vehicle records check.
