Coupa Software is hiring a Functional Consultant Lead to establish and lead the functional-consulting layer within Rossum Solution Delivery, a newly formalized AI-Native Services Delivery operating model inside Coupa Value Services. You will report to the RVP Solution Delivery and manage a team of seven senior functional consultants delivering the Rossum-functional side of enterprise customer implementations.
The role centers on four core ownership areas:
**The Rossum-Functional Standard:** Set and uphold team-wide standards across schema design, workflow, business rules, configuration, training, pre-live validation, hyper-care support, and troubleshooting. Your team consists of seasoned delivery professionals; your focus is on raising the ceiling and establishing best practices rather than teaching fundamentals.
**AI Performance Tuning Leadership:** Model and establish criteria for real-customer-data tuning before implementations are considered complete. Prepare post-go-live optimization plans and codify repeatable approaches and pattern libraries so knowledge outlasts individual projects. Work closely with Rossum AI research teams to drive continuous improvement.
**Pilot-to-Practice Delivery:** Partner with the Principal Innovation Architect to translate experimental AI-native functional pilots into day-to-day delivery practice. Manage team adoption, run initial client engagements, and scale methods that demonstrate measurable success while maintaining a fail-fast mindset.
**Operational Interfaces & Strategic Leadership:** Define and manage delivery interfaces with Coupa Engagement Management. Serve as a core peer in the four-person services leadership group (Solution Architecture, PS Engineering, Principal Innovation Architect, and RVP), shaping the future of AI-native services delivery across Rossum and Coupa Value Services.
Coupa's Rossum Solution Delivery team is already shipping production work—over ninety tools and eighteen production skills in an internal agentic toolchain built by delivery practitioners for delivery practitioners, on top of Rossum's own AI engine. This is not a greenfield role; you are joining an operating model already in motion.
**Requirements:**
- 10+ years in enterprise SaaS implementation, functional consulting, or Professional Services leadership, including at least 3 years directly managing a team
- Hands-on experience with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) or comparable AI application platforms where deployment quality depends on tuning models to real customer data
- Commitment to pushing platform capabilities for customers and treating documented playbooks, architectural patterns, and reusable standards as primary deliverables
- Practical understanding of or strong drive to learn modern delivery approaches: spec-driven implementation, agentic workflows, eval-based quality gates, and version-controlled delivery capabilities
- Proven ability to negotiate working agreements across complex enterprise organizations and collaborate effectively with seasoned, opinionated peers
- Prior experience in Coupa, SAP, or NetSuite ecosystems is a strong advantage
- Strong communication and partnership skills to represent the Rossum functional practice across Value Services initiatives
