Alan, a European health insurance leader with €950M+ revenue and 1M+ members across France, Belgium, Spain, and Canada, acquired Tanel—West Africa's first digital health insurance platform—in 2026 to accelerate continental expansion. Tanel, founded in 2022 in Senegal, operates in Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire with 30,000+ members, 1,200+ health facilities, and 400+ pharmacies, achieving 7x revenue growth in 2025.
You will play a central role in converging Alan and Tanel's products and technologies. The mission is to preserve the best of both: Tanel's deep West African market knowledge, operational expertise, and local relationships, combined with Alan's powerful platform, product practices, and international experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Converging product experiences and technical foundations between the two organizations
- Building reusable components and systems tailored to local market needs
- Evolving tools to support product and operational scaling
- Automating manually-managed processes
- Improving data flow and reliability across teams and systems
- Balancing global standardization with Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire realities
- Establishing technical foundations for future West African expansion
You'll work on complex, concrete problems with direct impact on how thousands of people finance, access, and experience healthcare.
The engineering team operates with high autonomy, rapid iteration, and strong product proximity. The tech stack includes Python/Flask, React, React Native, and PostgreSQL. Decision-makers build the solutions they design.
