Marigold is a fast-growing marketing technology company with three core platforms—Emma, Campaign Monitor, and Vuture—that help businesses build stronger customer relationships through email, SMS, and marketing automation. The company is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee with offices in Sydney and London.
You will join an autonomous, multi-disciplinary product team working on the Campaign Monitor product. Senior Full Stack Engineers at Marigold work closely with UX designers, Product Managers, and other software engineers to deliver quality customer experiences and scale systems for growing demand. You'll work in small teams with clear objectives, enabling accountability and transparency. The role includes participation in an on-call rotation and ownership of the software you create.
The Campaign Monitor technology stack is primarily C#, JavaScript, SQL, and Java. The frontend is transitioning from Backbone.js to React, so you'll work across both during this migration. You'll contribute to a variety of projects including:
• Event-driven microservices and APIs in distributed architecture
• Dynamic web applications (ReactJS, Node.js, Backbone.js)
• Infrastructure development on AWS (EC2, ECS, SNS/SQS, RDS, Elasticache, Elasticsearch)
• Event streaming and big data solutions (Kafka, Spark)
• Extending and growing the existing feature set
As a senior member, you'll help shape architecture decisions, raise the bar on code quality through review and mentorship, and take ownership of problems end to end—scoping, tradeoffs, and long-term maintainability, not just implementation.
The company offers unlimited time off, flexible hours, fully remote work, birthday off, generous parental leave for both parents, home office setup allowance, optional fortnightly team gatherings at WeWork offices (lunch provided), culture clubs, an annual DevCamp, Change Days, Innovation Sprints, Employee Assistance Program, wellbeing app, flu vaccinations, salary continuance, and life insurance.
Note: The majority of the interview process is remote, with one stage conducted in person.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 10+ years of experience as a software developer
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field (or 3+ years additional relevant industry experience in lieu of degree)
• Fluency in at least two programming languages, preferably including C#, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Comfortable using AI-augmented development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to write, review, and refactor code faster, with judgment about when to use them and when not to, without outsourcing critical thinking about design, correctness, or security
• Familiarity with a range of storage engines (SQL, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, RDS offerings) and knowing when each is the right fit
• Data-driven decision making and familiarity with instrumentation techniques
• Effective communication skills via interactive mediums and documentation
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
DESIRABLE:
• Experience in event streaming architecture and stream processing (Kafka, Spark)
• Solid Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform; comfortable picking up other provisioning/config tools as needed
