Lab37 Robotics is a technology company developing and deploying robots for direct-to-customer food production. The company is revolutionizing the food industry through innovative robotic solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
In this Full Stack Software Engineer role, you will work across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, integrations, and robot-adjacent interfaces. You'll partner closely with product, culinary, operations, robotics, firmware, and mechanical teams to translate ambiguous operational problems into reliable software solutions. As the team scales, you'll collaborate with product and robotics software teams on challenges around release and deployment, configuration, learning management, and robot interface refinement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking ownership of frontend and backend software for configuring, observing, and managing kitchen operations
- Collaborating with culinary and product teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Integrating with delivery service providers to receive orders, provide status updates, and synchronize menus
- Creating and integrating on-robot control panel interfaces
- Working alongside firmware, mechanical, electrical, and robotics engineers to ensure cohesive system functionality
- Contributing to code reviews and architectural decisions
You'll work onsite in Pittsburgh five days a week in a collaborative environment with experienced colleagues and managers who support learning and growth.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency in Go or C++ for writing backend services, particularly REST-based
- Proficiency in Vue3 or Svelte (preferred) and TypeScript for writing frontend web applications
- Familiarity with documentation tools (wikis, markdown, docs) and ability to write design documents and playbooks
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Prior experience with AWS services, particularly cross-region services, databases, and message queues
- Experience with Docker, Protobuf, Python, Terraform, and Git
- Familiarity with remote simulation environments and standing up simulated backend services or using such services in unit/integration tests
- Familiarity with SQL, Superset, Jupyter notebooks, and other data analysis tools
