Salary: USD 150,000 - 1,000,000 / annual
8090 Solutions, co-founded by Chamath Palihapitiya, is building a Software Factory that delivers fully-managed, hosted software purpose-built for enterprise customers. The company is addressing what it sees as bloat and inefficiency in the traditional software ecosystem.
You will join as a Full-Stack Engineer working on customer solutions and contributing to the Software Factory platform itself. This is a customer-facing engineering role where you own the complete lifecycle of software you create—from development and testing through operation, maintenance, and support. You will work on end-to-end problems, leveraging modern AI tools to improve both your own practices and team productivity (what the company calls "building AI with AI").
The role emphasizes systems thinking, technical depth, and the ability to articulate well-engineered solutions to ambiguous problems. You will collaborate within a highly dynamic team and interact directly with customer stakeholders to design and communicate solutions.
Key technology stack: Python, TypeScript, React, AWS, GitHub Actions, Docker, and AWS CDK. The company values engineering excellence, intellectual curiosity, bias for action, ownership, agency, honesty, and radical candor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Expertise in and extensive professional experience with full-stack web development (Python, TypeScript, React, Data Structures, AWS)
- Ability to own problems end-to-end and rapidly acquire missing knowledge to deliver
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal collaboration and customer stakeholder engagement
- Willingness to work in a highly dynamic, intelligent team environment
PREFERRED / DIFFERENTIATORS:
- Deep expertise in data engineering, ML engineering, or data science (e.g., integrating LLMs, fine-tuning models, creating evaluations, hosting AI/ML infrastructure at scale)
- Professional experience in DevOps, security, and cloud infrastructure (GitHub Actions, Docker, AWS CDK)
