Caravelo builds the technology platform behind airline subscription products, combining SaaS, payments, booking systems, pricing and airline integrations. The company helps airlines build recurring customer relationships instead of selling one trip at a time. You will join the Platform team as a Frontend Tech Lead, reporting to the CPTO and participating in Engineering Leadership. This is a highly hands-on role where you remain deeply involved in implementation while shaping how frontend engineering evolves across the organization. **Key Responsibilities:** Build and evolve the frontend platform by creating and improving shared frontend capabilities, evolving the design system and component foundations with Design and other engineers, improving developer experience around local development, CI/CD, testing and deployment, and keeping the frontend architecture healthy as new features and product lines are added. Lead the frontend practice by defining and evolving architecture conventions, facilitating RFCs and technical decision-making, raising the quality and consistency of code reviews, establishing clear frontend engineering standards, running or contributing to the frontend guild, and mentoring other frontend engineers. Improve reliability, testing and observability by strengthening E2E testing and regression coverage, monitoring and alerting, performance visibility, production debugging and troubleshooting, and confidence in releases and changes. Improve communication across teams by increasing visibility into frontend work and technical decisions, documenting architecture and patterns, collaborating between Platform, Product and Professional Services, enabling knowledge sharing, and ensuring architectural decisions become practice. Use AI to accelerate without creating chaos by using AI tools to accelerate implementation, testing, debugging and documentation, encouraging reusable workflows and consistent patterns, helping engineers review and challenge AI-generated code, and preventing speed from becoming an excuse for poor engineering judgment. You will work closely with frontend engineers across Product and Platform, backend and Platform engineers, Product Managers, Designers, Professional Services, and Engineering leadership. The frontend stack includes Vue 3, Nuxt 4, TypeScript, Vitest, Reka UI, and Turborepo. The team runs a monorepo, delivers the frontend as a full SPA through a CDN, and uses GitLab pipelines for CI/CD. **Requirements:** Must have: Strong professional experience building modern frontend applications with excellent engineering fundamentals. Experience leading technical decisions, architecture discussions and code review practices in a frontend environment. Deep experience with Vue 3 and its ecosystem. Experience improving reliability through testing, observability, performance work and production debugging. Ability to mentor other engineers, communicate technical decisions clearly and influence without relying on hierarchy. Pragmatic judgment about when to improve architecture, keep things simple, and when not to build something. Nice to have: Experience with Nuxt meta-framework. Experience working with design systems and shared component libraries. Experience with monorepos, developer tooling and frontend CI/CD. Experience with Playwright, Vitest or similar testing frameworks. Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring and observability tools. Experience leading or shaping frontend practices across multiple teams.
