Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products for enterprises like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The Authentication Interfaces team builds authentication products that add verification layers to online payments, processing over 130 million transactions weekly.
In this role, you will own features end-to-end—from design through deployment and live monitoring. You'll design and build highly scalable, reliable distributed systems central to Adyen's payment platform. Key responsibilities include:
• Design and implement solutions for scalable authentication systems
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/design, and engineering teams across Uplift and Payments domains
• Take full ownership of the development lifecycle, from concept to production
• Implement robust observability and monitoring for authentication flows
• Launch features rapidly and iterate based on data and feedback
• Review code and provide constructive feedback across teams and time zones
You'll work with modern front-end technologies including Preact, TypeScript, Vite, and state management libraries. The team is investing in cutting-edge solutions like passkeys and agentic commerce, so you'll have exposure to WebAuthn, device binding, and device fingerprinting.
Required qualifications: Strong foundation in web development with experience building web applications, SDKs, and API integrations. Expertise in front-end architecture, web performance, CI/CD workflows, and testing (unit, component, end-to-end). Proficiency in Preact, TypeScript, Vite, GitHub/GitLab, and state management. Clear communicator, pragmatic problem-solver, and proactive team player. Fluent English (technical and non-technical). Experience with payment flows or passkey/SPC solutions is a bonus. You should be enthusiastic about growing full-stack skills with small backend Java API contributions.
