Addi is a leading Colombian fintech platform serving over 2 million customers and 20,000+ merchants, offering Buy Now, Pay Later solutions, banking services (deposits, payments, unsecured credit), and commerce services. Recently achieved profitability and secured regulatory approval to operate as a bank, backed by top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Goldman Sachs, and Union Square Ventures.
As a Fraud Prevention Analyst, you will be the frontline defender of Addi's assets and customer trust. Your primary mission is to verify applicant identities in real-time, minimize fraud losses, and ensure a secure onboarding experience. You will work directly with identity verification processes, document authentication, and fraud detection systems.
Key responsibilities include: decreasing overall fraud loss rates through enhanced real-time identity verification; maintaining high document verification accuracy while minimizing false positives; processing identity verification cases within target handling times; identifying and documenting emerging fraud patterns and techniques; maintaining 100% adherence to identity verification protocols and quality assurance guidelines; and contributing to faster customer onboarding through swift, accurate verification.
You will need deep technical expertise in document security, particularly Colombian identity documents and their security features. You should be able to immediately identify inconsistencies and red flags, with 1-3 years of professional experience in identity verification, document authentication, or fraud prevention (preferably in financial services or technology). Relevant educational background includes documentology, criminology, dactyloscopy, or forensic graphology.
The role demands analytical rigor and pattern recognition—the ability to analyze complex identity information, identify subtle anomalies, and connect disparate data points to detect fraud. Meticulous attention to detail is essential; you will consistently identify critical discrepancies that others might miss. You must make data-driven, defensible decisions based on verifiable evidence and established protocols, clearly articulating your reasoning. Strong communication skills are required to document findings and report potential fraud risks to relevant teams. Finally, you must be adaptable and committed to continuous learning, quickly mastering new verification technologies and evolving fraud tactics.
