Volta is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform building the compute utility layer for the AI era. Backed by a $10B strategic partnership with a leading frontier AI lab, Series A funding from Andreessen Horowitz, and a $5B AI Infrastructure Fund, the company is scaling rapidly across London, Palo Alto, and New York.
This is Volta's first dedicated FP&A hire, reporting to the VP of Accounting. You will own short-range financial forecasting, variance analysis, and accounting-grounded financial modeling across a multi-entity, multi-currency group operating at both corporate and special purpose vehicle levels.
Key responsibilities include: owning rolling 13-week cash flow forecasts across all group entities in GBP, USD, EUR, and NOK; running monthly and quarterly P&L reforecast cycles with clear bridges to prior forecasts; producing consolidated cash and burn reporting for leadership, the board, and investors; delivering monthly actuals-vs-forecast and variance analysis at entity, department, and project levels with root-cause commentary; tracking project-level cost variances on data center deployments; building and maintaining the group's operating and financial model on a US GAAP basis; modeling P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow impacts of major transactions including site acquisitions, colocation commitments, GPU financing, and debt events; establishing variance thresholds and SOX-adjacent management review controls; and defining the FP&A calendar, templates, and data model during NetSuite implementation.
You must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with 5+ years of FP&A experience demonstrating ownership of short-range cash forecasting and variance analysis in capital-intensive or high-burn environments. You need genuine accounting fluency, not just spreadsheet skills, with strong grasp of accrual accounting mechanics, multi-entity and multi-currency group experience, advanced Excel proficiency, and comfort with ERP systems. Experience in data center, infrastructure, energy, or project-finance-heavy sectors is valued, as is exposure to SOX 404 environments, IPO readiness, or ASC 842/718 familiarity.
