Thoropass is a compliance automation platform serving hundreds of growing companies. Founded in May 2019 and backed by J.P. Morgan, PayPal Ventures, Bain Capital, and others, the company is experiencing dramatic customer and revenue growth.
Reporting to the FP&A Director, you will be a core analyst on the Financial Planning & Analysis team. This is a high-visibility role for someone early in their finance career—ideally with investment banking experience—who wants to move closer to operating decisions at a fast-growing SaaS business.
You will build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and reporting that leadership relies on, gaining meaningful exposure to how a company actually operates. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
**Budgeting & Forecasting**: Support development and maintenance of annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Update forecasts based on actual performance, market conditions, and business partner input. Prepare detailed financial plans, projections, and supporting schedules.
**Monthly Financial Reviews**: Prepare materials for monthly financial performance reviews with department leaders. Analyze budget-to-actual variances, flag key drivers and trends, and package findings into clear, actionable insights for the FP&A Director and stakeholders.
**Unit Economics & Analysis**: Calculate and track key SaaS metrics including Gross Margin, Net Dollar Retention (NDR), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), and Lifetime Value (LTV). Ensure metrics are reported accurately and on time to support decision-making.
**Headcount & Hiring Support**: Maintain headcount and hiring trackers, keeping approved roles, backfills, and open requisitions up to date. Serve as a reliable source of truth for people-cost planning.
**Financial Reporting**: Build and maintain recurring financial reports and dashboards. Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and consistent with internal standards.
**Financial Modeling**: Build and maintain financial models using both bottoms-up and top-down approaches. Support scenario analysis and ad-hoc modeling for strategic initiatives.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Partner with teams across the company to gather data, pressure-test assumptions, and turn numbers into actionable insight.
You should have a strong analytical foundation, sharp Excel and modeling skills, and a desire to grow quickly in a collaborative environment.
