Vitalize Care is building intelligent labor management software for hospitals—addressing the largest operational cost (nearly 60% of hospital P&L) and the hardest staffing challenges. The company has raised over $32M from top investors and customers, and delivers mission-critical software that saves hospitals millions in unnecessary labor spend while giving clinical leaders back 10–20 hours weekly.
As a Founding Technical Recruiter, you will build Vitalize's engineering, product, and design talent function from the ground up. This is a full-cycle recruiting role with ownership across sourcing strategy, interview design, talent branding, and recruiting systems that scale with the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own full-cycle recruiting for Engineering, Product, and Design teams while serving as guardian of Vitalize's technical hiring bar
- Partner deeply with engineering and product leadership to define what exceptional talent looks like for each role
- Build world-class talent pipelines through sourcing, market mapping, referrals, networking, and long-term relationship building
- Develop deep expertise in the technical talent landscape—knowing where top engineers spend time, how to earn their attention, and how to build relationships before roles open
- Immerse yourself in the business by attending engineering planning meetings, product reviews, and customer conversations to recruit with credibility
- Continuously improve hiring processes by testing sourcing strategies, recruiting technology, interview design, and workflows
- Raise hiring quality by influencing interview decisions, challenging assumptions, and ensuring every hire strengthens the organization
You bring 7+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience in high-growth startups or technology companies, with a proven track record hiring exceptional engineering, product, and design talent. You have an exceptional eye for top 1% technical talent and elite sourcing ability—understanding that the best candidates rarely apply inbound and knowing how to identify, engage, and close difficult-to-reach candidates. You possess strong technical curiosity (not necessarily engineering background, but genuine interest in how great engineering organizations operate), are comfortable partnering with founders and engineering leaders at an executive level, and thrive in ambiguity with a builder's mindset that improves systems without being asked.
