Pensive is seeking a Founding Technical Recruiter to build and own the technical hiring function for both the company's internal team and partner companies through Builders, a talent platform. You'll work directly with Pensive's founders and partner company founders to define roles, source exceptional candidates, and close offers. Your responsibilities include hiring and placing exceptional engineers quickly while maintaining a thoughtful, high-quality candidate experience. As a founding role, you'll shape recruiting strategy, processes, systems, and tooling as the company scales.
You'll need 1+ years of technical recruiting experience at a fast-growing technology company or top recruiting agency. You should have a strong grasp of technical skills, engineering roles, and how engineering organizations operate. You must be a proven closer with a track record of landing senior and staff-level engineers in competitive markets, and be able to clearly articulate your approach. You're comfortable operating with speed and ambiguity—priorities shift, roles evolve, hiring bars move, and you adapt without losing momentum.
You operate autonomously and decisively, functioning effectively as a team of one, making trade-offs independently, and iterating quickly. You're comfortable leveraging AI, automation, and new tools to improve sourcing, evaluation, and recruiting workflows.
Nice-to-have qualifications include recruiting agency experience, a CS degree or prior software engineering background, and experience with AI-native or agentic recruiting tools. This is an early-stage founding role offering significant influence over recruiting infrastructure and strategy.
