Lightsprint (YC P26) is building a collaborative product-development platform for the AI era—a code-aware task board with cloud coding agents and per-task preview environments integrated into one system. This is the founding design hire, working directly with founders to shape the product vision and execution.
You'll own all product design, setting the bar and building the design system from scratch. Your work will directly influence how users experience the platform daily. The user base spans non-technical builders and engineers, requiring design that bridges both audiences with clarity and delight.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct continuous user research and form strong product opinions to guide UX decisions
- Design multiplayer and collaborative features: presence indicators, alignment tools, personalized reports, and human-AI collaboration moments
- Frame conflict and co-authorship as UX problems, not just engineering challenges
- Define agent UX by translating complex agentic behavior (multi-step tasks, planning, code review, preview environments) into understandable, trustworthy interfaces users can steer
- Resolve the power-vs-simplicity tension so both non-technical builders and engineers feel capable and respected using the same surfaces
- Prototype and iterate rapidly in a fast 0-to-1 environment
You'll work in a fast, AI-cloud-agent workflow, talking to customers, framing product direction, prototyping, and shipping. This role demands exceptional craft, product judgment, and the ability to make complex technical workflows feel human and accessible.
